Decking & Fencing

Carter's Carpentry were asked to transform an old patio area with a modern stylish decking area which looked over a 3 tiered garden. The area had to be prepared by knocking down a small retaining wall and even the old pond had to be cleared! After repairing the set of steps from level 2 to 3 with new slabs, we laid a deck frame approximately 7 meters X 6 meters to accommodate the new decking.

Their stunning new feature was finished with decorative ballastrading around the edges.

Carter's Carpentry were asked to install a 7 x 3 metre decking area, erect new "feather edged" fencing, posts and full height gate, which had to be rotated to allow gate to be opened away from the new decking area to the rear. The Client asked us to create a safer garden environment for a boisterous 4 year old who had previously had to climb the 14" drop out of the rear entrance onto the paved area in the rear garden. It necessitated effectively a gentle graduation from the back entrance lawn area, avoiding the need for a step.

Garage Door & Frame

Carter's Carpentry were asked to supply and fit a new pair of wooden garage doors with frame by the Client. The previous doors were rotten and had made the garage unsecure. The new doors made the garage secure again as well as improving the overall look.

Porch Entrance Columns
Carter's Carpentry were given the job to replace four rotten porch columns. As you can see from the first photo, the columns had rotted badly at the base causing major concern. The posts held up quite a large pitched porch roof which were also tiled adding to the weight. Our client opted for square posts with new handrail and spindles. We replaced four posts on two porch entrances along with new handrails and spindles. The porches had been transformed giving them a new lease of live with the security of knowing they were now safe again.
